Over the past several years, many web sites have popped up selling gift certificates for skydiving. These sites appear to be representing a skydiving center in your local area and make claims that they have hundreds of skydiving schools across the country. The truth is that no nationally-owned chain of skydiving schools exists! These "centers" are nothing more than an internet telemarketing company, adding additional markup and confusion to a straightforward process. An alert consumer will notice that these services have multiple websites that look very similar, are very general in their information, and all steer you to a national call center. The booking agents will not tell you their location, but will say "Yes we have a skydiving center near you." Their websites have names that sound like they should be a skydiving school local to a major city or state, but they look very much like several hundred other websites with similar sounding names. Conversely, all calls and clicks to MIDWEST FREEFALL at (586) 752-JUMP go directly to our privately owned skydiving center conveniently located just north of Metropolitan Detroit.

Please don't fall for an on-line marketing scam. Midwest Freefall does not honor gift certificates from these services. In fact, NONE of the skydiving centers in our area accepts these certificates. People who buy these on-line certificates usually have to drive surprisingly long distances, because there are so few skydiving centers accepting them. When a customer finds out that he cannot use his certificate at one of the major centers, and then tries to get a refund, he will likely find that no refunds, compromises, renewals, or transfers are available.

With these on-line marketing operations, there is no local office staff or instructors with whom to speak. All communications are with telemarketers in a far away state.

When customers arrive at schools that will accept these certificates, they often have to wait all day because their certificates are given a lower priority.
